     Welcome to Roseclan, a new version of an old roleplay that i made a couple months back, and a friend suggested I bring it back, with a different plot. Roseclan is, unlike it's previous version, a join with your own original characters. (the original was a claim-a-cat). There isn't much special about this, but please refer to the clan plots, and what not. Please enjoy being here, and a part of Roseclan! Where the cats have each scent of a flower, berry, or tree even for themselves!

i. forum rules. they apply here, and just about everywhere. please follow them. It's not hard. It will keep this roleplay from getting deleted. It'll also make everything run as smooth as possible, and we want that, don't we? 
ii. activity. it isn't a MAJOR requirement here, as i am not the most active bean, but i really do try to be. I want everyone on at least once, maybe even twice a week; not just to pop in and say hi, but to actually post a response here and there. But sometimes, if no one has a cat open, I will offer you to just pop in and chat with us whenever. Yknow what i mean?  
iii. literacy. this is a literate clan; grammar is expected to be almost precise. Why? So we can read what you're saying. I understand grammar mess ups, but don't make it often. As there are little red lines that are under misspelled words. Simply read replies before you send them. This leads me to my next point; please, for the love of starclan, do NOT post one-liners. You are required to post at least three or more sentences, even paragraphs if you would like. The only exception? Low muse. But do not try to get away with that excuse every time. 
iv. joining. when joining, you are expected to join with one molly and one tom at least (other characters added on to your first two are whatever you please). HOWEVER when you want to join, you need at least two cats of different ranks (warrior and warrior, warrior and elder) before you can join with an apprentice. This is so Roseclan doesn't end up with 25 apprentices and 10 warriors. everyone is allowed a maximum of two apprentices as long as they have two older cats to meet that requirement. PLEASE ALSO DO NOT USE THE SAME PREFIX MORE THAN TWICE. And keep genetics realistic( i want this clan based on genetics. If you aren't familiar, ask someone in the clan if they are). Please refer to the breeds list when needed.
v. LGBTQ+ Characters. they are more than welcomed within this roleplay. But this does meann DO NOT DISRESPECT ANY LGBTQ+ CHARACTERS OR PEOPLE >> IF DISOBEYED WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC REPORT AND BAN FROM THIS CLAN.
vi. high positions. okay, here is the deal. You are more than welcome to ask for them, but i will most likely not give any positions away find someone who i can rely on. 
vii. bullying+spamming. These two things are never tolerated. Bullying will be reported (only if it is OOC) and spamming is only allowed if you are calling someone to a different thread. Please do not abuse that rule, though, as if you do it too many times, I will report you. If you have done it more than five times, just like a persons post. Spamming is also for members of this thread; do not advertise, as it is spamming. Do not spam any ones likes, unless they give permission to do so. It's annoying. And do not over excessively tag/like them/their posts. I'm sure they got the first notification.
viii. plots and side plots. plots are to be discussed with me, and only me. That is only if it is a plot you think might be interesting for the clan. If there is a plot going on, and you want to be a part of it, please ask. If you want to add minor plots, feel free to do so. But please ask. If it is small, and wont effect the whole clan, no need to ask. But if it's something such as a fox attack, or plague, please confront me first before doing so. But please, also stick to any MAJOR plots that may be going around at the moment. 
ix. password. when you post your cats please add "roses are red" to your join form so i know that you've read the rules. If you don't i will not accept you. Feel free to get creative and hide the password yourself in you join form to prevent others from seeing it. (Please try and make it obvious for me, the creator. bold it, and then unbold it after you are accepted.)
x. The Strike System. The Strike System will basically help me give out warnings, and such. Everyone is given three checks (✓), and if all three checks are turned to “X”’s (✘) then that person will be asked to leave. 
warnings may include; Activity, Not proper post length, Bullying, Spamming, incorrect grammar (only when it’s become every post that you’re spelling a majority of the words wrong, but I don’t think we’ll have a problem with this), not following rules, etc. Also creating unnecessary drama can cause in a strike. I don't have much tolerance so do not start anything with me, please. 
xi. have fun. this rule is as simple as it gets! Make this a fun, and enjoy-full place to roleplay! Include everyone!  
xii. flower scents. A specific flower scent is given to each cat- this is what the cat's pelt smells like, and how a lot of cats identify each other when they dont see them at first. You are allowed to choose this scent for your characters- but a scent cannot be used more than three times.

- Roseclan has just had a serious outbreak of an unknown illness- the medicine cats don't even know of this illness until it hits, and the illness hits hard. First the medicine cat falls very ill with this sickness, and then a young kit does. The medicine cat apprentice is just newly appointed, and are left to learn alone for a few days. But it isn't long until the medicine cat and the kit both pass away, leaving the clan without a fully trained medicine cat. The apprentice eventually finds a cure to this illness- though with the extent of losing a few lives along the way- and one of the siblings of the kit that passed becomes the new medicine cat apprentice after the medicine cat that found the cure becomes a full medicine cat (they most likely learn from the old medicine cats in starclan). Many want to know if this was a punishment from starclan.

     an old ancestor knowns as Rosemary founded the clan. She was a delicate she-cat whom put forth so much to keep her clan alive. She traveled far to find cats, and for a long period of Tim, Roseclan was a nomadic Clan, meaning they moved their home quite often. That was until Rosemary- Rosestar at the time- died due to exhaustion. Many other cats, more kits and young and old cats, died due to the pure exhaustion that came from the constant moving. Roseclan hadn’t ever stayed in one place for longer than a moon. When Rosestar passed, A cat named Adderclaw took over and became leader, dubed Adderstar. The large black tom declared that Roseclan would stay in their current location by a lake.
But the stay didn’t last long before the flood season came... the camp soon flooded from rain water and the nearby streams and lake. Adderstar drowned, saving a young kit named Lilackit. It left Brambleheart to lead the clan. Bramblestar now led Roseclan to a field at the bottom of a mountain- it was beautiful and full of flowers. The clan of course set camp somewhere in the forest nearby.
A huge outbreak of Whitecough killed off many- leader Lilacspot to take over as leader once Bramblestar lost his last life.
Dubbed Lilacstar, she continued to lead Roseclan after the terrible outbreak, and the flooding- naming her deputy Nettlestep- and outsider trying to prove himself.
A thing to know about Roseclan cats- they all smell of a certain flower or herb or something nature related. It all originated from cats originally rolling in the substance. Now, Starclan grants them the smell just when they are born. Many queens name cats off of their smell, others do not.
Now Nightstar- after Nettlestar passed- leads the clan through another new sickness, hopping to overcome it with his clan.

Apprentice Trial ;;
**APPRENTICES MUST HAVE BEEN ASSESSED WITH BATTLE SKILLS BEFORE THIS TRIAL BEGINS. NIGHTSTAR MUST BE PRESENT, AS WELL AS THE APPRENTICES MENTOR.**
The apprentice trial is basically a warrior assessment- if they pass, they gain their warrior name.
Apprentices are to spend THREE DAYS and TWO NIGHTS up in the mountain, with their mentors accompaniment, and the apprentice must survive on their own and reach the top of the mountain (it roughly takes a day and a half). But that is just the first part. The apprentice then must return to the bottom of the mountain, and by dusk on the third day, they will meet with the leader and be given the privalge to ear their full name. The apprentice must sleep and rest, before they are called to the center of camp for a clan meeting, and given their warrior name.
Their mentor is with them through everything, but it is forbidden of them to help -- unless under serious circumstances. ie: a mountain lion or bear or fox appears, or other various predators.-- and if they do, then the leader will be notified by a second warrior standing by (most likely a senior warrior, or the deputy) (or the leader herself is on the trail with the mentor and apprentice) will tell Lilacstar immediately, and the apprentice will be forced to wait another moon before trying their assessment again. The mentor will be frowned upon, but will be able to gain respect once again if their apprentice passes the tests.
n o t e : this test was formed by Bramblestar in order to prove apprentices worthy, and for warriors to show they know what they are doing.

Here is a list of valid breeds for roseclan:
abyssinian, american shorthair, american wirehair, bengal, bombay, british shorthair, burmese,chartreux, cornish rex, devon rex, egyptian mau, japanese bobtail, manx, ocicat, oriental shorthair, russian blue, siamese, tonkinese

While that is a list of valid breeds, long-haired cats are just uncommon, so they do appear in the clan. Roseclan Cats are typically lighter in color- silvers, white, grays, gingers, creams, calicoes, torties, etc. but other colors are seen in the clan.

Feel free to join as whatever- but this is all just to help make it easier.

     BEAUTIFUL MEADOWS - ALL AROUND. Roseclan cats have made this beauty their home for seasons. the clan is surrounded by many meadows and a steep gorge. A beautiful blue lake sits at the bottom of the flower filled meadow. The clan hunts rabbits across the meadows, and have races every now and then. The clan tries to steer clear of Meadows Gorge. The lake is named Crimson Lake. and the mountain range behind the lake - connected to Wolves Mountain, though the clan doesn't go here- is called Primrose Mountains. As it is said a cat named Primrose once traveled there, but died. It's a tale the elders tell the kits, saying Primrose haunts those mountains. A river runs across the territory named Raven's River. An old burned down ash tree is a safe place where rabbits seemed to sleep in, named Ashen tree. A moor is also apart of their territory, called Nettle's Moor.

The Farm

     Far past the gorge rests a farm where a pair of elderly twolegs live. The farm has many animals, like sheep, horses, cows, and chickens. Younger twolegs are occasionally seen riding on the top of the horses. The farm is a place the clan tends to try and stay away from, but a few kittypets seem to live there, or the barn is used as a place for shelter when travelling.

The Evergreen Forest + Wolves Mountain

     Behind the meadow lies a large pine forest where all the woodland creatures run. The Evergreen Forest is where the warriors hunt for food- many rivers run through it, where some warriors may fish for well, wish, (though as well as the lake). The forest is often dark and creepy- the evergreen forest seems to constantly have a mist floating at the paws of all cats- leaving it all the more dreadful. It is, however, a wonderful place to hunt.
     Wolves Mountain is a large mountain range behind the forest- inside is the Whispering Pool,and cave of whispers where the medicine cats go to speak with starclan. Wolves Mountain is named after the medicine cat apprentice, Wolfhowl (Wolfpaw at the time), who found the place to speak with starclan inside the mountain. The journey to the mountain is a well around a half days travel. Wolf's also lurk towards the peak. Wolves Mountain is also the Mountain the Apprentice Trial is held.

The Mossy Hollow

     The Mossy Hollow is a moss covered ditch/hollow that both mentors and apprentices practice hunting, battle moves, and even medicine cats use it as a place to lay out herbs and asses their apprentices. The Mossy Hollow is also used as a sunbathing place for any cat really. This is also a usual sunning spot for shrews and birds of prey.

Whispering Cave

     Whispering Cave is a cave founded by Wolfpaw/howl. The young medicine cat apprentice was traveling in a search for a place to communicate with starclan. Hearing whispers coming from somewhere, the young cat followed after the sound before stumbling into the cave that seemed to be whispering the names of past leaders, medicine cats, and even his own name. This lead to a huge discovery.

Whispering Pool

     Whispering Pool is the pool located deep inside the cave that was founded by Wolfpaw/howl. It's said as you get closer, the louder the whispering of the Roseclan ancestors get. But at the very heart where the pool is, is silent, though you can hear a very faint dripping from the stalagmites in the roof of the cave. A hole about the pool shines down with the moon and sun light. Medicine cats lay by this pool and drink from it in order to speak with their ancestors.

     Roseclan has made their home in a small dip at the top of the meadow, away from the lake to keep away from flooding. The dip is surrounded by rose bushes and thorn bushes to prevent intruders. It isn't large, but it keeps the clan comfy and safe.
     In the center is a tree stump where Nightstar addresses the clan from. A den is burrowed neatly under the roots where he nests. 
     By the entrance sits the warriors and apprentice dens- both dens are made of brambles and rose bushes.
     In the back of the camp is where the nursery and elders dens are. The Eldersden is a hollowed out tree that has a burrow under it, giving the cats plenty of head room. The nursery is made of a beautiful pink and purple rose bush with thorns to protect it. The nursery is almost always double to triple layered to keep it warm. 
     The medicine cats make their den in an old rock that was carved out. Inside is many crevices, perfect for storing herbs. The den fits four cats at most. And empty burrow lies near for sick cats to sleep in.
     The camp clearing is almost always sunny, as the trees do not cover it up. The clan has some shaded areas, such as the corners, where the elders cool from the sun if they get too warm, or where the kits tend to hide or sneak out of camp at.
     Wilted rosepetals arelittered in a pile by the leaders den to symbolize every life that left the clan. A petal is added when a cat dies.
     Claw marks enrich the bark of the leaders den to symbolize each new life brought into the clan.

As it is the middle of Leaf-Fall, the weather is getting colder. Rain falls quite often, and sometimes its a very light snow-fall. It is often cloudy. The prey is running well, surprisingly, but something seems off about this time of year. Leaves are falling, and the animals at The Farm are being put in the barn. Prey will soon be scarce, and the lake has a thin sheet of ice on it.

     if you want a specific cat to be your apprentices mentor, please tell me before hand. I will most likely ask as well. Pairings tend to end up with who ever is available, but i'll ask the mentors rper first if they'd be okay with their warrior having an apprentice. Typically the leader and deputy won't have an apprentice. Leader's only mentor their deputies kits, and deputies typically mentor whenever no other warrior is eligible (or they need to).

     scents are allowed to be used a maximum of two times, though it isn't recommended. the layout is similar to the prefix list- is a scent is striked out, you may no longer use it. Please at least try to keep from using a scent more than once unless absolutely dire.
Scents can range from floral, to nature like. nothing disgusting, as the scents are supposed to be good smelling. a cat cannot straight up smell like fox, fish, mouse, dog, or something like that. Keep it sweet smelling. A cat can smell like rain or firewood however. All in all, KEEP SCENTS PLEASING TO THE NOSE.
